Who can see your child’s bus? A plain answer

You’d never hand your child’s details to a stranger. So before you trust an app with them, you deserve straight answers to a few simple questions. Here they are, without the legal language. Our full Privacy Policy has every detail.

What does Aeon School know about my child?

Only what it needs to get them to school and back: your child’s name, school, pickup address and route, and when they’re picked up and dropped off. We hold your contact details so we can send you notifications. If you add medical or accessibility details, they’re shared only with the people responsible for your child’s ride, so they can keep your child safe.

That’s the whole list, and we use it to run the service. Nothing else.

Who can see the bus?

You see your own child’s information and the bus on your child’s trip, along with the driver’s name, phone number and vehicle details, so you always know who’s behind the wheel. You can’t see other children’s details, and other parents can’t see yours.

Your bus company sees its own buses and students. Drivers see only the students and stops on their own trips.

Is the app tracking me?

No. The bus’s location comes from the driver’s device, and only while a trip is in progress. Tracking starts when the driver begins the trip and stops when it ends. Aeon School doesn’t track your phone or your child’s phone.

Three things we will never do

• Sell personal information.
• Use children’s information for advertising.
• Build marketing profiles of children.

How is it kept safe?

Information is encrypted when it’s sent and when it’s stored, and access is limited to the people who need it to run the service. Trip records are kept only as long as they’re needed, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

What if I want my child’s information changed or removed?

Just ask. You can request to see the information we hold about your child, correct it, or have it deleted. Contact your bus company or school, or email us at sayhello@aeon-app.com, and we’ll help.

Knowing where the bus is should give you peace of mind, not a new worry. That’s why privacy is built into the way Aeon School works, not added on afterwards.
